Windows are the eyes to your home, yet they are often overlooked during routine cleaning. Making them sparkle is easier than you think. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

1. Choose the Right Cleaner

Many commercial cleaners work well, but a simple mixture of vinegar and water can also do wonders. Just mix one part white vinegar with two parts water in a spray bottle.

2. Use a Microfiber Cloth:

Unlike paper towels, microfiber cloths don’t leave lint behind. They also absorb water and dirt more efficiently, leaving a streak-free finish.

3. Wipe in a Circular Motion:

Wiping windows in a circular motion can minimize streaking. If any streaks do form, a quick horizontal polish should take care of them.

4. Don’t Forget the Sills:

Windowsills often collect dust and dirt. Wipe them with a damp cloth, followed by a dry cloth to prevent wood damage.

5. Time It Right:

Cleaning windows on a cloudy day helps prevent the sun from drying the cleaner too quickly, which can leave streaks.

6. Inside and Out:

Remember to clean both the inside and outside of your windows. Using an extension pole or a ladder with proper safety precautions will help you reach high places.

7. Screens Need Love Too:

If you have screens, remove them and gently scrub with a soft brush.

8. Regular Maintenance:

Regular cleaning helps prevent dirt build-up and makes the task easier next time.

Windows allow natural light and beauty into your home, so treat them with care. Regular cleaning not only enhances your home’s appearance but also extends the life of your windows. Happy cleaning!
